Strategic Engagement enables Boards of Directors to have ownership and commitment to its governance structure and protocol by offering trainings, retreat management, and meeting facilitation. Since the Board of Directors is ultimately responsible for an institution’s vision, mission, values, strategies, staffing, reputation, and operation, it must have a clear and strong governance model.
We offer a multitude of services that can be accessed at any stage of Board creation and maintenance.
Training:
Strategic Engagement will provide a four-hour to 2 day training or retreat for Boards and the Executive leadership and staff of the organization. This interactive training is engaging and forward-looking, with a focus on issues such as:
- Financial and legal oversight
- Executive Director and Board oversight
- Strategic Planning
- Fundraising
- Community support
- Decision-making processes
- Organizational structure
Board Meeting Facilitation
Strategic Engagement will facilitate regular Board meetings, especially when critical issues are under consideration. We also can serve as recorders and process managers for Board retreats and special meetings.
For example: A Board may call a special meeting to review its mission and strategies to achieve the mission, addressing:
- Shared understanding of the mission
- Ways that the mission translates into programs and services
- Visions and values that underlie the mission
- Process for mission review and updates
- Strategic or financial decisions that are affected by the mission
